I am thrilled to share my firsthand experience from the Inductive Community Conference 2023 (ICC 2023), where the theme was not just a word but a promise: “Elevate”. ICC 2023, centered around the revolutionary software platform Ignition and exceeded expectations exciting its community of Employees, Integrators, and End Users. ICC 2023 was an odyssey into the future of industrial automation and data management, hosted in a cloud environment. Here’s the highlights from what unfolded at ICC 2023. Table Talks: Where Ideas Found Their Voice
At the first strike of the forge at ICC 2023 were the ‘Table Talks,’ where ideas not only mingled but soared. These sessions were a vibrant melting pot of honesty and open conversation, where the fusion of diverse thoughts lit the path for future innovations. Engaging conversations, insightful debates, and the exchange of knowledge painted a vivid picture of the challenges and triumphs for End Users and Integrator alike.
Opto22 Alliance Partner Presentation with Benson Hougland
Benson’s presentation was a beacon of light (pun intended), showcasing how cutting-edge technologies are bridging the gap between OT/IT challenges and solutions. Their innovative approach is poised to revolutionize the way we perceive and implement automation in manufacturing processes. Opto22‘s presentation went beyond the conventional, emphasizing the vital aspect of getting operational data seamlessly into the cloud. Their approach highlighted flawless and rapid integration marking a pivotal step towards streamlined data management and industrial operations. Automated Testing with Cody Mallonee
Automated Testing took center stage for heavy hitting integrators, showcasing how flawless integration through automation could be achieved. The emphasis was not just on testing processes but on developing a culture of testing for integration, ensuring that every component works seamlessly together within the industrial ecosystem. This culture will foster our ability to create powerful updates and releases to manage Ignition based software packages. We’re looking forward to the release of Ignitions tests to the Ignition Exchange.
Keynote Presentations
The keynote presentations were a fountain of wisdom, expanding on the intricacies of the evolving industrial landscape. Visionaries shared insights into Ignition 8.3, revealing groundbreaking features such as native drawing tools, tag cross-references, advanced Web UI with integrated API, new Ignition Edge offerings, event streams, and an updated timeseries historian. This guided our flows toward more efficient, intuitive, and powerful industrial applications.
Alliance Partner Program
Having key players from The Alliance Partner Program was a unique opportunity to interrogate the brilliant minds behind innovative solutions. It offered profound insights into the origin and ideal applications of these solutions, enriching our understanding and expanding the horizons of possibilities for our clients and End Users.
Automation Ladies Presentation with Nikki Gonzales & Ali G
Discussing diversity and ingenuity the Automation Ladies Presentation not only celebrated the invaluable contributions of women in our industry but also introduced an inspiring initiative, Kids PLC Kits. Moreover, it spotlighted the power of community building through platforms like LinkedIn, an invaluable resource for networking and collaboration.
Community Impact Program
Empowering Communities with Ignition ICC 2023 showcased how Ignition is not just a tool but a catalyst for positive change. Through the Community Impact Program, Ignition is being harnessed to solve real-world problems in communities, offering reliable software solutions with no licensing costs. Personally, I am eager to utilize this program to empower municipalities and non-profits, enhancing lives and making a tangible difference in the communities we serve.
The Ignition Effect
The Ignition Effect, captured through #FeelTheEffect, was a wave of enthusiasm that swept through the conference. It symbolized not just a product but a movement, uniting us under the banner of innovation and progress.
Don’t forget the Build-a-Thon!
The Build-a-Thon, a captivating experience, was laced with humor, as demonstrated by Kent, Travis, and Kevin. What a coin flip that determined the presentation position of the teams! Design Group’s choice of the Flexware Innovation side of the coin might have been a stroke of luck, or perhaps, a witty decision that tipped the scales in their favor. Additionally, the Galton Board crafted by Opto22 left attendees awe-inspired, showcasing the perfect blend of creativity and technology.
ICC 2023 was not just a conference; it was a transformative experience that transcended boundaries, pushing the limits of what we thought possible. As we take these learnings forward, let’s continue to elevate our industry, our communities, and ourselves to unprecedented heights.
