As Flexware’s full time recruiter, I often get asked by candidates, “What is your favorite part about working at Flexware?” This can be a hard question because there are many facets that I enjoy about my role and the company.
When talking about my position within Flexware, it’s great to be able to speak with candidates and learn about their backgrounds, professional and personal experiences, and why they want to work at Flexware. When talking about working for Flexware I can say that we have a great and unique culture that our Leadership team has worked hard to create. I love the fact that business decisions and our company culture are made around our purpose and our four core values.
Besides being outstanding engineers for our customers they have fun and exciting interests outside of work that I get to learn about. Sometimes I never know what interesting side project they will tell me about, and even better, bring in to experience firsthand.
The other week he was talking about testing out his jet engine (yes, I said his JET ENGINE!) After some initial conversations around finding out how he got a jet engine and his purpose for having it (that’s another blog post for another time!) he decided to bring it in and give it a test run.
As you can see from the video we got it fired up and working. Having never started a jet engine, and being the one closest to the gas can, I found myself surprised each time it started up as well as the kickback it creates. Gabe was unaware of the kickback so luckily myself and the blower were there to stop the jet engine from tipping over.
If you’re interested in becoming a FlexDog and would like share with me any of your crazy side projects, I’d love to have a chat with you! You can email me at email@example.com or call 317-813-5442. Or you can check out our open engineering positions.
