FISHERS, Indiana (January 24, 2024) — For the second straight year, Flexware Innovation announces a full slate of activities during National Engineers Week. The annual Engineers Week, founded in 1951, takes place February 18-24, 2024, and is celebrated by academic and engineering organizations around the globe. Flexware Innovation, a Fishers-based manufacturing technology integrator, employs software, electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing engineers. “Our celebration of Engineers Week was inspired by Will Nichols, one of our longtime engineers,” said Dwayne Butcher, Director of Marketing. Butcher explained that Nichols shared much of the week’s history and his own experience with Engineers Week.
Activities will engage Flexware employees, customers, and partners. Additional activities will inspire the next generation of engineers and encourage underrepresented groups to pursue engineering as a profession.
Planned activities include:
Live Streaming Event with Industry Leaders

These internal presentations take place on Monday and Tuesday of Engineers Week. Thursday will feature an Engineering Challenge that tasks employees with solving a defined problem using only the tools and methods allowed.

Flexware engineer, Alex Ryker, will speak on engineering as a career to a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) class at Carmel High School, based in Carmel, Indiana.
Women and Minorities in Engineering
In honor of National Engineers Week’s “Girl Day,” several of Flexware’s women engineers will record videos to be shared on social media and will include insights into their roles as a female engineers.
Finally, the Flexware Foundation will, for the second year, donate funds to the non-profit “Black Girls Do Engineer.” The organization’s website states, “Our organization was created with the concern that Black-American girls and young women are not choosing STEM-related careers, and our passion is to change the narrative and fix this issue.” www.blackgirlsdoengineer.org
